Terrace Corporation makes an industrial cleaner in two sequential departments, Compounding and Drying. All material is added at

the beginning of the process in the Compounding Department. Conversion costs are added evenly throughout each process. Terrace uses the weighted average method of process costing. In the Compounding Department, beginning work in process was 3,600 pounds (60% processed), 61,200 pounds were started, 57,600 pounds were transferred out, and ending work in process was 60% processed.

Answer:

                                    Terrace Corporation

                                       Equivalent Unit

                                                        % D.Material % Conversion

Completed transferred 57,600 100% 57,600 100% 57,600

to drying

Ending Inventory of WIP 7,200 100% 7,200 60% 4,320

Total 64,800 64,800 61,920

Note:

Ending Inventory of Wip = Opening WIP Inventory + Added(Started) - Transferred out = 3,600 + 61,200 - 57,600 = 7,200 pounds

The following cost data relate to the manufacturing activities of Chang Company during the just completed year:
aleksandrvk [35]

Answer:

cost of goods manufactured= $890,000

Explanation:

Giving the following information:

Applied Overhead= $485,000

Other costs incurred:

Purchases of raw materials (both direct and indirect) - $400,000

Direct labor costs - $60,000

Inventories:

Raw materials, beginning - $20,000

Raw materials, ending - $30,000

Work in process, beginning - $40,000

Work in process, ending - $70,000

To calculate the cost of goods manufactured, we need to use the following formula:

cost of goods manufactured= beginning WIP + direct materials used + direct labor + allocated manufacturing overhead - Ending WIP

Direct material used= beginning inventory + purchases - ending inventory

Direct material used= 20,000 + (400,000 - 15,000) - 30,000

Direct material used= 375,000

I deduct the indirect material included in manufacturing overhead.

cost of goods manufactured= 40,000 + 375,000 + 60,000 + 485,000 - 70,000

cost of goods manufactured= $890,000

Suppose Americans suddenly develop a strong taste for Canadian whiskey. What happens to the demand for Canadian dollars in the f
weeeeeb [17]

Answer:

A) If there is a sudden spike in the demand for Canadian Whiskey, the demand for Canadian Dollars will shoot upwards in the FX market.

B) When the demand for Canadian dollars does up in the FX market, the forces of demand and supply will force its price to increase in relation to the dollar.

C) If America is not exporting any commodity, or the number of Canadian goods imported into America is less than what it shipped out to them, then there is a trade deficit. Trade deficits if sustained can lead to a weaker currency.

D) Because the export demand for Canadian Whiskey has taken an upward spiral, the number of net exports in Canada will increase. When this happens, the currency is strengthened and so is the Canadian dollar. When the strength of a currency increases, it automatically gives more purchasing power to those holding that currency.

When compared to the U.S. with a consistently lowered net export, the dollar is likely to depreciate in value, thus eroding the spending or purchasing power of the U.S. dollar.

Cheers!
