A consumer is someone who buys things like goods and services. For example, you yourself are a consumer because you buy goods like groceries from Walmart or wherever you shop. The answer is the amputation of the lieutenant's arm. None of the other options are events in the story. The lieutenant returns home and we don't know the outcome of the battle. There is also no evidence he was ever ill.

Which group of words is NOT a phrase?
Lesechka [4]

Answer:

Your answer would be B.

Explanation:

The group of words that is not a phrase is B. It contains a sentence because the group of words has a subject and a predicate. A sentence is the basic unit of language that represents a complete thought. It contains at least a subject and a main verb that the states what the subject does/is. In the sentence above, the subject of the sentence is the NP she and the predicate is the VP because smiled at me. This sentence could be the answer to a question asking why.

stepladder [879]
The subject of the poem is life. When you look at it in depth, its entirety is a metaphor for the passing of life. Nature's first green is gold (the birth of a child, or new life), her hardest hue to hold (innocence passes fast with life, no matter how hard we try to hold on to it). Her early leaf's a flower; but only so an hour (again with the quick passing of time for life.) The leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief (death at the end of someone's life and the mourning that comes with it, if only a second to the hour of life), so dawn goes down to day (mourning is over, and the days continue after that someone passes and everyone has mourned). Nothing gold can stay (life is valuable, like gold, and vanishes much in the same way).
