The population of a city is 45,000 and decreases 2% each year. If the trend continues, what will the population be after 15 year
Sloan [31]
The answer is 31,500.
Let's clarify some things :
1% of 45,000 is 450
Maybe you're wondering why , it's actually very simple .
Just move the decimal to the left once if you want to find 10% , move the decimal twice if you want to find 1%.
We now that 1% equals 450. Then 2% equals to....
Well just add another 1% .
450 + 450 or 450 times 2
Which equals 900.
Now we want to find what's the population after 15 years.
900 times 15= 13,500
But that's not the answer ....
That's what is decreasing.
45,000 - 13,500= 31,500
That's why the answer is 31,500.

ln(y+1)-lny=1+3lnx . Express y in terms of x, in a form not involving logarithms. (4 marks, Maths CIE A level)
Delicious77 [7]
remember
ln(x)=log_e(x)
and
log_x(a)-log_x(b)= log_x( \frac{a}{b} )
and
log_a(b)=c means a^c=b
and
blog(a)=log(a^b)

so

ln(y+1)-ln(y)=1+3ln(x)
ln( \frac{y+1}{y} )=1+ln(x^3)

minus ln(x^3) from both sides

ln( \frac{y+1}{y}-ln(x^3) )=1
ln( \frac{y+1}{yx^3})=1
log_e( \frac{y+1}{yx^3})=1

translate

e^1=\frac{y+1}{yx^3}
e=\frac{y+1}{yx^3}

times both sides by yx^3

eyx^3=y+1

minus y from both sides

eyx^3-y=1
y(ex^3-1)=1

divide both sides by (ex³-1)

y= \frac{1}{ex^3-1}

Standard deviation of a normal data distribution is a _______. Group of answer choices
FrozenT [24]

Answer:

Standard deviation of a normal data distribution is a measure of data dispersion.

Step-by-step explanation:

Standard deviation is used to measure dispersion which is present around the mean data.

The value of standard deviation will never be negative.

The greater the spread, the greater the standard deviation.

Steps-

1. At first, the mean value should be discovered.

2.Then find out the square of it's distance to mean value.

3.Then total the values

4.Then divide the number of data point.

5.the square root have to be taken.

Formula-

SD=\sqrt{\frac{(\sum{x-x)^2}  }{n-1}

   Advantage-

It is used to measure dispersion when mean is used as measure of central tendency.
