Berlin blockade is the closing of entry from the West by Soviet Forces from June 1948 to May 1949

it was an attempt to prevent the other allies ( USA, France and the UK ) unifying the western part of Germany.

The British and US forces responded by sending supplies to the city by air for over a year ( the berlin aircraft ).

its purpose was to seperate East from West as it serves as barrier between communism from capitalism. There were barbed - wire place around it to prevent East Germans from leaving communist East berlin. Many died trying to cross through the barrier.
