<h3>Miguel's Tower is the same height as Jacqui's Tower</h3>

<h3>Further explanation</h3>

To solve the above questions, we need to recall some of the formulas as follows:

Volume of Prism = Base Area × Height

Area of Square = (Side Length)²

Let us now tackle the problem !

<u>Given:</u>

Miquel's Tower Square Base Length = L₁ = 4 in.

Jacqui's Tower Square Base Length = L₂ = 6 in.

Volume of Miquel's Tower = V₁ = 128 in.²

Volume of Jacqui's Tower = V₂ = 288 in.²

<u>Unknown:</u>

Heigth of Miquel's Tower : Height of Jacqui's Tower = H₁ : H₂ = ?

<u>Solution:</u>

This problem is about Volume of Prism.

\texttt{Volume of Miguel's Tower} = (\texttt{Base Area}) \times (\texttt{Height of Miguel's Tower})

128 = (4)^2 \times (\texttt{Height of Miguel's Tower})

\texttt{Height of Miguel's Tower} = 128 \div 4^2

\texttt{Height of Miguel's Tower} = \boxed {8 ~ \texttt{inches}}

\texttt{Volume of Jacqui's Tower} = (\texttt{Base Area}) \times (\texttt{Height of Jacqui's Tower})

288 = (6)^2 \times (\texttt{Height of Jacqui's Tower})

\texttt{Height of Jacqui's Tower} = 288 \div 6^2

\texttt{Height of Jacqui's Tower} = \boxed {8 ~ \texttt{inches}}

<h2>Conclusion:</h2>

Height of Miguel's Tower is the same as Height of Jacqui's Tower

Jacqui's tower is taller than miguel's. How did I manage to pull that out? I divide the volume by the product of the length and wide of the base tower and that should give me the height of the tower. <span />

Lines a and b are parallel. line c is perpendicular to both line a and line B. Which statement about lines a,b and C is not true
7nadin3 [17]

When lines are parallel, they have the same slope, so the statement "line a and line b have the same slope" is TRUE

When lines are perpendicular, the slopes are opposites (the sign and number is flipped)

For example:

slope is 2

perpendicular line's slope is -1/2

slope is -1

perpendicular line's slope is 1/1 or 1

slope is 4/5

perpendicular line's slope is -5/4

When you multiply(the product) perpendicular slopes together, they equal -1. Since line c is perpendicular to line a and line b, the product of their slopes is -1.(so this is true)

The statement "the sum of the slopes of line a and b is 0" is false because if they have the same slope, when added together the result would not be 0. The slopes of line a and line b is -2/3, so the sum would be -4/3.

Ginny’s favorite cookie recipe requires 1 1/2 cups of sugar to make 24 cookies. How much sugar does Ginny need to make 36 of the
Delicious77 [7]

Ginny needs 2\frac{1}{4} cups of sugar to make 36 cookies.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Sugar cups required for 24 cookies = 1\frac{1}{2}=\frac{3}{2}\ cups

Ratio of sugar cups to cookies = \frac{3}{2}:24

Let,

x be the number of cups needed for 36 cookies.

Ratio of sugar cups to cookies = x:36\\

Using proportion;

Ratio of sugar cups to cookies :: Ratio of sugar cups to cookies

\frac{3}{2}:24::x:36

Product of mean = Product of extreme

24*x=\frac{3}{2}*36\\24x=54

Dividing both sides by 24

\frac{24x}{24}=\frac{54}{24}\\x=\frac{9}{4}\\x=2\frac{1}{4}

Ginny needs 2\frac{1}{4} cups of sugar to make 36 cookies.
