Castilian dialect, Spanish Castellano, a dialect of the Spanish language (q.v.), the basis of modern standard Spanish. Originally the local dialect of Cantabria in north central Spain, Castilian spread to Castile. 1. names of places: While i'm not sure about this one, i know that areas that used to be under Spanish control (South-West) were part of Mexico before the Texas Independence, which means the place has received influence
2. Television: As seen today, there are Spanish-speaking channels on television even inside the US, provided by Cable and other companies geared towards spanish speakers
3. music: As seen today, there are Spanish songs that are played on the radio, and is becoming increasingly popular with spanish-speaking Americans.
4. Food: Especially in the South-western area, Mexican & Spanish food can be found, from tacos, to tamales, to other kinds of food.
