In the last line of the poem “Laura” it is told that Laura underwent physical changes, she aged, and her beauty fades with age. Even so, the speaker still loved her.

EXPLANATION

The poem "Laura" by Italian poet Francesco Petrarch, illustrates a man's obsession for years with a woman and her beauty. So, Laura is a love poem. It is said that this poem was written for about 20 years. Most of these poems are included Canzoniere or Rime. Laura in this poem is suspected to be Laura de Noves. Laura de Noves is a woman and a mother from Avignon, France. But because Petrarch gave no clue who Laura really was, some readers suggested another Laura's name. Some critics believe that Laura is not a fictional character, not inspired by one particular person.

Based on the poem, Petrarch was supposed to meet Laura for the first time on 6 April 1327 at a Church of Sts. Claire, Avignon. In his poetry, he seems to have made Laura a lifelong obsession, even until his death on April 6, 1348.

What about Gatsby's parties indicate that he is wealthy?

In the great Gatsby chapter 3
DedPeter [7]

Answer:

We are told that Gatsby came up from essentially nothing, and that the first time he met Daisy Buchanan, he was “a penniless young man.” His fortune, we are told, was the result of a bootlegging business – he “bought up a lot of side-street drug-stores here and in Chicago” and sold illegal alcohol over the counter.Jay Gatsby's parties symbolize the shallowness of the upper class in The Great Gatsby. Gatsby's parties were the hub for upper-class society. ... It shows the shallowness of the upper-class and the fact that they are obsessed with wealth.
