Answer:

Letter writing to the Director General of Moragahakanda Dam requesting for permission to visit it.

Explanation:

To,

The Director General

Moragahakanda Dam

Moragahakanda, Talagoda Junction

Sri Lanka

12 May 2015

Subject: Permission to visit the dam by our school.

Respected Sir,

Most respectfully, on behalf of ABC Public School's science society, I would like to ask for permission to visit the Moragahakanda Dam. We've been learning and researching natural reservoirs and dams as part of our science project. And your project is one of the most wanted locations that the society wished to view and experience.

So, as part of our science society's trip, we would like to make a visit to the site, for which, we were told we need to get permission from you.

It would mean a great deal to us if you would allow us to make a visit to the site. We would be really grateful to you.

Thanking you in advance.

Regards,

Ankush Sharma

President

Science Society

ABC Public School

New Delhi.

The local classic car auction raised $12,000 for local charities, the mayor is designating the funds to the children’s hospital.

I believe fused sentence would be the answer. Because “the mayor...” and “the local classic car auction...” could be two separate stand alone sentences but they were incorrectly fused together by a comma.
