How would you do this maths question?

Mathematics

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

First you take the 142+B=180

because those 2 are supplementary

B=38

and you see the 2 lines on the 2 sides that means those two sides are equal to each other and the angles corresponding with them are also equal to each other.

and a triangle= 180 degrees

A and E are the same so A=E

180-B(38)= 142

and because A=E you do 142/2= 71

and now that you have A and E you don't need A or B for the last part so

E+(x)=180 because those two angles are supplementary.

and E is 71 so...

71+(x)=180 ---------180-71=x

X=109

PLEASE HELP!! Algebra 2
lawyer [7]

Answer:

No

Edit:

Yes, based on original equation. (Credit to greenpumpkin for correction)

Step-by-step explanation:

For this problem, we simply need to find the values of x that can make the equation true. So, let's begin by isolating the "x" variable.

sqrt(2x + 13) = x + 5

[sqrt(2x + 13)]^2 = (x + 5)^2

2x + 13 = x^2 + 10x + 25

0 = x^2 + 8x + 12

Note, we can remove the sqrt method by squaring both sides of the equation. Doing this, we see we have a quadratic equation meaning we can apply the quadratic formula to find solutions for x.

[-b +/- sqrt( b^2 - 4(a)(c) ) ] / 2a

Let a = 1, b = 8, and c = 12

[-8 +/- sqrt( (8)^2 - 4(1)(12) ) ] / 2(1)

= [-8 +/- sqrt( 64 - 48 ) ] / 2

= [-8 +/- sqrt(16) ] / 2

= [ -8 +/- 4 ] / 2

So, x = [ -8 + 4 ] / 2 and x = [-8 - 4 ] / 2

x = [-4] / 2 = -2 and x = [-12] / 2 = -6

Hence, the two values of x that can solve this quadratic equation are x = -2 and x = -6.

Therefore, we know that x = -6 is not extraneous, meaning it is a solution to our equation.

Cheers.

----------------------------------------------------

Edit:

Plugging the value of -6 back into the original equation, we get the following:

sqrt(2x + 13) = x + 5

sqrt(2(-6) + 13) = (-6) + 5

sqrt (1) = -1

1 != -1

Given that 1 cannot equal negative 1, we can say that x = -6 is an extraneous solution. (Credit to greenpumpkin for correction)

What is the apparent solution to the system of equations graphed above?
astraxan [27]
Solution for system of 2 equations of lines is coordinates of point at which those 2 lines intercept. The reason for is that those coordinates fit in both equations. IF you implement coordinates of that point in either of those equations of 2 lines you will see that left side is equal to right side which means that that point belongs to that line.

This method here is graphical method of solving system of equations. Other method is, of course, solving system of equations using math...

Which of the following analyses involves making hypothetical changes to the data associated with a problem and observing how the
levacccp [35]

Answer:

The correct answer is letter "C": what-if analysis.

Explanation:

A what-if analysis is a study an individual or company makes about a certain number of events where variables are changed to determine what the outputs would be. This approach is normally implemented when there is limited information from where to make a concise decision. Then, individuals have to outline all the possible results to find out what their risks are.

Software like Microsoft Office Excel facilitates the implementation of what-if analysis.

3 times what equal 19?
MissTica

Answer:

6 1/3

Step-by-step explanation:

3 times what equals 19 can be in the form of an equation as shown below. It shows that the value we are finding for is unknown, therefore it is a variable. A variable is the unknown value in an equation.

Equation: 3x = 19

With the equation in hand, we can now solve the problem easily.

3x = 19

Carry the 3 to the 19(Carry over the like terms across leaving the variable or the unknown)

x = 19÷3

x = 6.33333 or 6 1/3

To check if the answer was correct:

3 × 6 1/3 = 19

You regain the answer 19
