The British highly taxed the American colonists so much that the American colonists couldn't afford to buy stuff. In return, the American colonists didn't buy anything from the British and the British couldn't pay off their huge debt and therefore had to do something, and they declared war on the colonists.

The American colonists fought back with George Washington as their captain and won. Then, America became an independent state from Britain.

Answer:

The British passed a bill that prevented cargo ships from coming into Boston, and the Americans did not get their tea. The economy hit record lows in Boston and Massachusetts as a whole. The British monarch were responsible for electing people to the seats they holded. The colonists were deadlocked, no one could even save them now. The crownholders in Massachusetts were allowed to return back to Britain for more respect, and so they could get their supplies. Later, these taxes were used to fund the 7 Years War.
