Answer:

The personification is used in this ballad to show the owl and the cat as individuals who manage to pack their bags and escape by ship to a new location. In addition, personification can be seen when these animals manage to make payments and even buy a wedding ring.

Explanation:

The personification is a figure of speech that allows animals or inanimate beings to have human characteristics and to be able to carry out activities that only human beings can do. An example of this can be seen in the ballad of the owl and the cat, where both animals manage to get married, make payments, travel by ship, buy wedding rings, pack bags and move to another city. This is not a behavior that animals can do, as they are characteristic of human beings, so we can consider that this is an example of personification.

A slimy blue thing was in my room.
I grabbed my cat, and looked down at my mat. It was so hard to sleep, so I got up and treaded on my feet. The creature was odd looking. It looked like a pile of pigs mud, but even more gooey and liquidized. This was the weirdest thing I have ever seen in my life. Then, my cat splashed the monster, so I went and reached to turn on my light. I felt silly for having a fright, for it was just my slime that my cat spilled water that made me feel grime.
