Their give and take ratio is never equal. Paine believed that they would suck out the prosperity of the colonies and not even give anything in return. That is why he wanted the independence for all the people of the Thirteen Colonies. His pamphlet’s main aim was to give rise to the fire of independence in the hearts of these people.
