Answer: I think the writer's use of supporting materials was effective because it gave a good scenario of the problem caused by childhood obesity. His narrative was useful but can also be found to be a bit boring.
Another supporting material which he should have used was visual aids. A few pictures, and maybe even graphics would have essentially painted the perfect picture of the epidemic that is childhood obesity in America.
