How could you improve the accuracy of your measurements?

Chemistry
1 answer:
yaroslaw [1]3 years ago
7 0

Explanation:

Accuracy is the nearness of observed values or measured values to the true value.

The difference between the measured and observed value gives the error incurred during the experimental procedure.

Here are some ways to improve the accuracy of measurements;

  • Use the right instrument to make recordings and to take measurements.
  • Employ the right hands and improve your technical knowledge.
  • Be very careful and observant while making measurement.
  • Ensure the instruments are properly calibrated.
  • Make sure the experiment follows the right design.

Write the balanced standard combustion reaction for the c5h7on3s2
AlexFokin [52]

Answer:

4C5H7ON3S2 + 25O2 —> 20CO2 + 14H2O + 6N2 + 4S2

Explanation:

When C5H7ON3S2 under go Combustion, the following are obtained as illustrated below:

C5H7ON3S2 + O2 —> CO2 + H2O + N2 + S2

Now, let us balance the equation. This is illustrated below:

C5H7ON3S2 + O2 —> CO2 + H2O + N2 + S2

There are 3 atoms of N on the left side and 2 atoms on the right side. It can be balance by putting 4 in front of C5H7ON3S2 and 6 in front of N2 as shown below:

4C5H7ON3S2 + O2 —> CO2 + H2O + 6N2 + S2

There are 20 atoms of C on the left side and 1 atom on the right side. It can be balance by putting 20 in front of CO2 as shown below:

4C5H7ON3S2 + O2 —> 20CO2 + H2O + 6N2 + S2

There are 28 atoms on H on the left side and 2 atoms on the right side. It can be balance by putting 14 in front of H2O as shown below:

4C5H7ON3S2 + O2 —> 20CO2 + 14H2O + 6N2 + S2

There are 8 atoms of S on the left side and 2 atoms on the right side. It can be balance by putting 4 in front of S2 as shown below:

4C5H7ON3S2 + O2 —> 20CO2 + 14H2O + 6N2 + 4S2

Now, there are a total of 54 atoms of O on the right side and 6 atoms on the left side

It can be balance by putting 25 in front of O2 as shown below:

4C5H7ON3S2 + 25O2 —> 20CO2 + 14H2O + 6N2 + 4S2

Now, we can see that the equation is balanced.

How many moles of hcl are required to neutralize aqueous solutions of these bases:
Lemur [1.5K]
The answers are a.) 0.03 mol KOH requires 0.03 mol HCl, b.) 2 mol NH3 requires 2 mol HCl and c.) 0.1 mol Ca(OH)2 requires 0.2 mol HCl.
Solution:
We need to write the balanced equations for each reactions to find out the stoichiometry for each reactants.
a.) HCl (aq) + KOH (aq) → KCl (aq) + H2O(ℓ)
From the balanced equations, we can see that 1 HCl reacts with 1 KOH, therefore if 0.03 mol KOH is reacted then 0.03 mol HCl must also be present.

b.) HCl(aq) + NH3(aq) ) → NH4Cl(aq)
If 2 moles of NH3 are reacted then 2 moles of HCl must also be present since 1 HCl reacts with 1 NH3 from the balanced reaction.

c.) 2HCl(aq) + Ca(OH)2(s) → CaCl2(aq) + 2H2O(ℓ)
We can see that 2 HCl react with 1 Ca(OH)2, hence if 0.1 mol of Ca(OH)2 is reacted then 0.2 mol HCl must also be present.
