Consider the graph of f(x) given below.
tiny-mole [99]

The functions could represent g(x) is B. g(x) = f(x - 5)

<h3>How can the function be determined?</h3>

Using the general equation g(x) =f(x)+ b

The g(x) has intercept of y=-2,

Then the  y-intercept of f(x) is at y=3

If we find the difference between both y-intercepts, we have

( -2 -3) = -5

Then b=-5

Hence, g(x) = f(x - 5) is correct.

Simplify<br> a)<br> a^5 divided by a^3
Ymorist [56]

The value simplified is <u>a²</u>

-

In a power division with equal bases - we subtract the exponents and keep the bases.

  • The representation of this expression in formula is given by:

\large \sf a {}^{n}  \div a {}^{m}  =  \boxed{ \large \sf a {}^{n - m} } \\  \\

<h3>Resolution </h3>

\large \sf a {}^{n}  \div a {}^{m}  =  \boxed{ \large \sf a {}^{n - m} }

\large \sf a {}^{5}  \div a {}^{3}  =   \purple{\boxed{ \large \sf a {}^{2} } } \\

So, the answer of this expression is <u>a²</u>

Multiply or Divide<br><br> (i need this for school tomorrow)
lions [1.4K]

Answer:

Ok so here are the simple rules of doing it (very easy) cause I’m not doing it all so . when multiplying a power with The same base keep the base but add the exponents. Dividing, keep the base (if their the same if not then its already simplified same with multiplication) but SUBTRACT the exponents. Also keep the parenthesis if it’s a negative number base.

I’ll do a few.

11) a^10.           11b) 5^4

12) (-2)^2.

13) 10^2.          13b) s^6

14) -4s^5(t^6) <- [Im not sure of this one)

15) x^3(y^3)

The yard behind the Cindy’s house is rectangular in shape and has a perimeter of 72 feet. If the length l of the yard is 18 feet
PtichkaEL [24]
Let
L----------> <span>the length of the yard
W--------> </span><span>the width l of the yard

we know that
the perimeter is equal to
</span>P=2*[W+L]
72=2*[W+L] \\ 36=W+L  --------> equation 1
L=W+18  ------> equation 2
<span>substitute equation 2 in equation 1
</span>36=W+18+W \\ 36=2W+18 \\ W=(36-18)/2
W=9 ft
L=W+18 \\ L=9+18 \\ L=27 ft
<span>
we know that
Area of the rectangular yard is equal to
</span>A=L*W \\ A=27*9 \\ A=243  ft^{2}<span>
