The difference quotient for the function f(x) is h+2x-7

Given :

Difference quotient formula

\frac{\left(f\left(x+h\right)-f\left(x\right)\right)}{h}

Given function f(x) = x^2 - 7x + 8

find the difference quotient using the formula

first we find out f(x+h) using given f(x)

replace x with x+h

f(x) = x^2 - 7x + 8 \\f(x+h)=\mathrm{ }\left(x+h\right)^2-7\left(x+h\right)+8\\Expand \; and \; simplify\\f(x+h)=x^2+2xh+h^2-7\left(x+h\right)+8\\f(x+h)=x^2+2xh+h^2-7x-7h+8

Now replace it in our formula and also replace f(x)

\frac{\left(f\left(x+h\right)-f\left(x\right)\right)}{h}\\ \frac{x^2+2xh+h^2-7x-7h+8-(x^2 - 7x + 8)}{h} \\\frac{x^2+2xh+h^2-7x-7h+8-x^2 + 7x - 8}{h} \\\\\frac{h^2+2xh-7h}{h}\\factor \; out \; h\\\frac{h\left(h+2x-7\right)}{h}\\h+2x-7

Help!! Answer !!! about to run out of time in test!!
Gemiola [76]

\qquad \qquad\huge \underline{\boxed{\sf Answer}}

Here's the solution ~

Let's find the measure of hypotenuse first, by using Pythagoras theorem ;

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \: h {}^{2}  =  {8}^{2}  +  {6}^{2}

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \: h {}^{2}  =  {36}^{}  +  {64}^{}

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \: h {}^{2}  = 100

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \: h {}^{}  =  \sqrt{100}

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \: h {}^{}  =  {10}

Now, let's find the asked values ~

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:  \sin(x) =  \dfrac{opposite \: side}{hypotenuse}

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:  \sin(x) =  \dfrac{6}{10}

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:  \sin(x) =  \dfrac{3}{5}   \: or \: 0.6 \: units

For Cos y :

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:  \cos(y) =  \dfrac{adjcant \: side}{hypotenuse}

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:  \cos(y)   = \dfrac{6}{10}

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:  \cos(y)   = \dfrac{3}{5}  \: or \: 0.6 \: units

As we can see that both sin x and Cos y have equal values, therefore The required relationships is equality.

I.e Sin x = Cos y

Hope it helps ~

Answer:

Kindly check attached picture for sample space design

45 ways

Step-by-step explanation:

Number of qualified candidates to be chosen = 2

Number of candidates to be interviewed = 10

Combination formula :

nCr = n! / (n-r)! r!

10C2 = 10! ÷ (10 - 2)!2!

10C2 = 10*9 / 2 * 1

10C2 = 90/2

10C2 = 45 different samples

Our sample space will contain 45 different samples

In circle P, if the radius is 3 cm, what is the length of arc AD?
umka21 [38]

Hello there.

We have for a circle that:

\ell=\alpha r

Where:

\ell is the measure of the arc

\alpha is the measure of the angle (radians)

r is the radius of the circle

In our case, we have \alpha = 120^\circ = \dfrac{120}{180}\pi = \frac23\pi ~rad

We have r = 3 cm, then:

\ell = (\frac23\pi )(3\ cm)\\ \\ \boxed{\ell = 2\pi~cm}

Hannah wants to save 1/3 of her allowance each week to buy a new dress that costs $45.00. if her allowance is $6.00 each week, h
Bess [88]

Answer:

It will take 22.5 weeks for her to save up to buy the dress.

Step-by-step explanation:

1/3 of $6.00 is 2.

(6 ÷ 3 = 2)

So she's saving $2 each week.

Now we need to divide $45 by $2 to get the number of weeks.

45 ÷ 2 = 22.5
