Imperialism and colonialism are two sides of the same coin. Colonialism is the subjugation of one political entity by another, while imperialism is usually the subjugation of multiple entities by the home country. Both colonialism and imperialism is done to benefit the home country, which is the key component of mercantilism. Mercantilism is an economic theory that views economics as a zero sum game, where the home country restricts the ability of its dependents to trade with anyone other than itself. This allows the home country to exact more benefit from the colonies than it could otherwise.
One method used by the allies to contribute to the hoax involving the d day landing was to feed Germany with false information through the use of Nazi double agents; other method was to plant fictional radio transmissions about movements of the troops; they also planted dummy inflatable Sherman tanks and dummy landing crafts.
Iran lost its independence. Islamic scholars lost their power.
The jury did not disappoint him. Scopes was found guilty and fined $100 (almost $1,300 in today's money). The Tennessee Supreme Court later upheld the constitutionality of the statute but overturned Scopes' conviction on a technicality.
