Jesslyn hypothesizes that the value of antique furniture can be modeled by exponential decay and that the value of a particular

piece will decrease at a rate of 0.15% each year. If the furniture was originally valued at $15,000 in 1990 what should Jesslyn expect the value of the furniture to be in 2010?

If this can be modelled by exponential decay, therefore the function must be in the form of:

A = Ao (1 + r)^t

where A is the final value, Ao is the initial = 15000, r is the rate of decay = -0.0015, t is time = 2010 – 1990 = 20

A = 15,000 (1 – 0.0015)^20

A = $14,556.36

1200+0.075x>=3300 what is the solution to the inequality
miskamm [114]
Solving inequalities is just like solving any other Algebraic problem...look to P.E.M.D.A.S. (Parenthesis, Exponents, Division, Addition, Subtraction). So lets take a look at this problem now.

1200 + 0.075x\geq3300

Subtract 1200 from both sides...
0.075x\geq2100

Now divide by 0.075...
x\geq28000

NOTE: If you divide or multiple by a negative number while solving inequalities, you must flip the sign. Ex: You answer would be x\leq28000 if you would've multiplied or divided by a negative.

It takes an ant farm 6 days to consume 3/8 of an apple. (Show all work) At that rate, in how many days will the ant farm cons
Lana71 [14]

Answer: 48 days

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Ant takes 6 days to consume  \dfrac{3}{8} of an apple

Using unitary method

6\ \text{days}\rightarrow \quad \frac{3}{8}\ \text{of an apple}\\\\1\ \text{apple takes}\rightarrow \quad \frac{8}{3}\times 6=16\ \text{days}\\\\3\ \text{apples take}\rightarrow\quad 16\times3=48\ \text{days}

Assuming that a soap bubble is a perfect sphere, what is the diameter of a bubble containing 1,000 cm^3 of air? Round to the nea
jenyasd209 [6]

Answer:

A is correct

Step-by-step explanation:

In this question, we are concerned with. calculating the diameter of a bubble given the volume of the bubble.

Since we have assumed the bubble to be a perfect sphere, it’s volume V = 4/3 * pi * r^3

Plugging the value of V = 1000cm^3 , we have

1000 = 4/3 * pi * r^3

3000/4pi = r^3

r^3 = 238.732

r = cube foot of 238.732

r = 6.20cm

This is same as 6.2cm
