The paralysis of the cilia that line the
airways is very harmful to one’s health. As you may know, the cilia
protect the nose from breathing in particles, such as dust and soot, mold, fungi,
bacteria, and viruses. If the cilia<span> no longer effectively remove mucus, an individual
must cough it up</span>. If this continues, a person may develop a serious
cough.
