Well I think that the compromise could if been initiated if both sides would have agreed to sharing and trading goods with each other  rather than trying to see which side was better at producing goods. But the issue of slavery was never going to be resolved because of the demand for slaves to harvest crops in the South and the non-stop debate of ending it in the North. So the two sides would have never ended it without the war because it was a hot topic for the people back in that time. This is credible because I learned that there were plenty of political debates that happen with Abraham Lincoln to convince others to stop slavery but they never worked and the war still happened so it was almost impossible to dodge.  ( Brainliest Answer ! )

The ________ were greek citizen soldiers who fought together in a phalanx to make a formidable heavy infantry
jonny [76]
Ancient Greek-citizen soldiers who fought together in a phalanx were called Hoplites.

Hoplites were not professional soldiers but they comprised the bulk of ancient Greek armies of the time. They were mostly represented by free citizens such as propertied farmers and artisans who could afford the weapons and armors. Hoplites were primarily armed with shields and spears and often utilized the phalanx formation as an effective war strategy especially when battling with fewer soldiers.

The illustration below shows an example of a phalanx formation (Source: http://www.ancientgreekbattles.net/Pics/669505_PhalArgos.jpg).
