Desalination: to remove salt from seawater

The biggest problem occurs in the species living in that habitat. Some species of fish survive better in salt water than in fresh water. Just about every species of fish you`ve seen in a tank need salt water to absorb. Removing salt from a natural environment will decrease those fish`s population.

In some aquariums, leaving salt in the aquariums is proven to prevent disease from the fish. It helps to clear the build up that living in fresh water can cause.

Causes fishermen to lose at least 165 million pound of fish a uear today and 717.1 million pound of potential future catch. Desalted water also puts drinking water supplies at risk because sea water contains chemicals such a boron, taht freshwater does not.

marysya [2.9K]

Answer:

mutations can be either beneficial or harmful depending on the environment

Explanation:

Mutations can be defined as genetic changes in the nucleotide sequence of the genome of one organism. Mutations are usually neutral, but they can also be deleterious and/or beneficial depending on the environment. For example, recessive mutations that cause sickle-cell anemia, which is a recessive genetic disease that affects homo-zygous individuals, have shown to be advantageous for heterozygous individuals living in regions where malaria is endemic. Beneficial mutations can be selected by natural selection, thereby increasing their frequency in the population.
