Answer and Explanation:

Needs are unlimited and there are scarcity of resources. Due to finite resources, the oil in Alaska would not be sufficient to cater to the whole of the population in United States. Therefore, it is important to look for alternatives because once the existing resources/oil starts to deplete then you won't have anything in your reserves.

Economics teaches us how to utilize resources efficiently. Therefore, having more oil reserves in different places could help in the long run to meet the demands within United States.

Gnesinka [82]

Answer:

the probability that exactly 8 complete the program is 0.001025

Explanation:

given information:

60 % of those sent complete the program, p = 0.6

the total of people being sent, n = 27

exactly 8 complete the program, x = 8

to find the probability, we can use the following formula

P(X=x)=\left[\begin{array}{ccc}n\\x\\\end{array}\right] p^{x} (1-p)^{n-x}

P(X=8)=\left[\begin{array}{ccc}27\\8\\\end{array}\right] 0.6^{8} (1-0.6)^{27-8}

P(X=8)=\left[\begin{array}{ccc}27\\8\\\end{array}\right] 0.6^{8} (0.4)^{19}

                = 0.001025

A firm has zero debt and an overall cost of capital of 13.8 percent. The firm is considering a new capital structure with 40 per
lara31 [8.8K]

Answer:

First we need to compute levered cost of equity

Ro = 15.40%

D/E ratio = 0.40/(1-0.40) = 0.6667

Rd=7.2%

We have following formula for levered cost of equity using MM model proposition II:

Without taxes

Re = Ro + (Ro – Rd) x (1-t) x D/E

     = 0.1380 + (0.1380-0.0720)x (1-0.0)x0.6667

     = 0.1380 + 0.0440

     = 18.20%

Therefore, new cost of equity would be 18.20%.

With taxes

Re = Ro + (Ro – Rd) x (1-t) x D/E

     = 0.1380 + (0.1380-0.0720)x (1-0.34)x0.6667

     = 0.1380 + 0.0290

     = 16.70%

Therefore, new cost of equity would be 16.70%.
