Answer:

Kinetic Energy can be defined as the energy possessed by the object by the virtue of its motion. The sum of these two energies is often called Mechanical Energy of the System. Electric Energy is also a form of these 2 energies: Electric potential energy stored in a charged particle in an electric field.

tia_tia [17]
Evolution and natural selection are for C. The long term survival of an entire species of organisms. Organisms are better suited to live in a particular environment due to the transmission of specific genes from the parental generation to the offspring that can lead to these species evolving if much mutations are associated also with the passing down of specific alleles for respective genes that enable the organism to survive for a longer duration in its environment.

Explain why postsynaptic potentials are transient (i.e. short lived). In other words, what terminates the action of the neurotra
REY [17]

Answer: The action of a neurotransmitter at the postsynaptic cell is terminated by the following: enzymatic degradation, diffusion or reuptake into the presynaptic cell by specific transporters.

Explanation: After a neurotransmitter has bound to its receptor on the postsynaptic membrane and triggered a biological response, in order to avoid over stimulation of the receptors, the neurotransmitter is either degraded by specific enzymes or taken back to the presynaptic cell into the synaptic vesicles by action of specific transporters. This mechanism is to maintain a balance (homeostasis).
