Readers can tell if a passage is written from a limited third-person point of view by looking for signal words.

A limited third-person point of view means that the narrator can only think and feel about the character. To know if it's accurate, make sure it's from a third-person perspective first. Find words like they, they, he, and she. If you see words like we, we, me, and you, that means it's from a different perspective.

If it's a third person, try to understand what the narrator knows. For example, if a story says something like "Jason felt he hurt Sebastian's feelings, so he apologized. Even though Sebastian was hurt by what Jason said, he accepts it.

In this example, the narrator knows the emotions of many of the characters, making them 3rd person. If the narrator is only speaking one person's thoughts in the story, it is indeed. limited to 3rd person only.
