Which of the situations is an example of the crowding-out effect on investment as it pertains to macroeconomics? The government

deficit is at an all-time high in the United States. As such, people begin to save more money in fear that taxes will increase in the future. Jack wants to borrow money to create a cowboy-themed inflatable bounce house for kids called "Wild Wild West." However, the government is running a deficit which has increased interest rates so much that Jack can no longer afford to borrow the money. Candex, an eyeglass frame company, decides to cut the price on all of its frames to $10, which successfully drives out all other firms from the market. The government of Walla Walla spent $4.3 billion dollars and collected $2.2 billion dollars in tax revenue.

Answer:

The answer is "Choice B".

Explanation:

Please find the numbering of the question in the attached file.

Jack needed to steal money to create a children's Wild Wild West hillbilly animatronic rewards house. The state has a surplus, that has forced up Jack's already too high rate of return to exploit.

Its consequence for crowdedness is government spending for capital investors. Enhanced public expenditure results in domestic income. Its increase in government income generates an unstable monetary market with the increase in interest rates and holds the demand for money equal to a money supply set by a commercial bank. Increased rate of interest affects manufacturing costs but declines in private sector investment.

When the U.S. treasury issues new bonds to replace bonds that have matured, it is engaging in debt refinancing. When you refinance something you are replacing existing debt with new debt, this is for the same object but under new terms. Depending on your credit, often times the interest will go down and/or your payments will be lowered. When the U.S. treasury issues new bonds to replace old ones they are refinancing the debt.

Suppose that preferences over private consumption C and public goods G are such that these two goods are perfect substitutes, th
Temka [501]

Answer:

Please see explanation below.

Explanation:

Public goods are goods consumed collectively, they are provided for all members of a community,

no one can be excluded from their consumption. The consumption by one person does not decrease the consumption possibilities for others. Public goods are available for everybody without paying, and these goods cannot be rationed: they are either provided for the whole community, or for no one. Examples of public goods include the public lighting system, public roads, radio broadcasts, national defence, lighthouses, town pavements, etc.

Private goods, on the other hand, are goods consumed individually, and if a unit has been consumed by

someone, then no one else can also consume the same unit. Private goods are scarcely available, and consuming a unit will decrease the amount available for further consumption. Therefore consumers compete for private goods, i.e. private goods are rival in consumption. Consumers can consume them if they pay the price, non-payers are excluded from consumption.

In the first scenario, given that both the private good and public good are perfect substitutes, the optimum quantity produced by the government is at the point where marginal social cost is equal to the marginal social benefit. This optimum output is lower than that of the private firm because the price of public good is higher than price of private good (since marginal social cost > marginal private cost).

If b increases, that means consumers are willing to give up more units of public goods for one unit of the private good. Therefore, the quantity produced by the government will reduce.

For the second part of the question: C = aG, where a > 0.

This implies that equal or more units of the private good is consumed with a particular units of public good. The optimum output still remain at the point where marginal social cost is equal to marginal social benefit but this output level is lower than if the two goods were to be perfect substitutes.

olasank [31]

Answer: The correct answer is "a. May not do this since it violates federal securities laws".

Explanation: The registered representative: May not do this since it violates federal securities laws.

As much as the registered representative has the approval of a company director or FINRA, he cannot underline the most important facts found in a preliminary prospectus because he would go against federal securities laws.

38. Money is an imperfect store of value when a. the rate of inflation is high. b. the unemployment rate is high. c. gold prices
Helen [10]

Answer:

a. the rate of inflation is high

Explanation:

When the inflation rate is high money loses its value because inflation rates decrease people's purchasing power which means that because of inflation they will be able to buy less goods and services with the same amount of money because goods and services cost more. For example if Person A has a million dollars and he can buy 5 houses from that in 2015, if Person A keeps his money in a bank as a store of value and there is 20% inflation it means that now 5 houses will cost 20% more (1.2*1 million) = 1.2 million. And Person A has now lost value as he will not be able to buy the same amount of houses with the same amount of money because of inflation.
