Why kids should get holiday breaks from school
Many students study through their school terms for up to three months. These students eagerly anticipate holiday because they provide a welcome breaks for them and teachers from classes. Many people are of the opinion that these breaks are usually too long, and do take away valuable class time from students, thereby impacting their performance negatively in the following school year. These individuals do not see benefits these holiday breaks afford. The purpose of this essay is to show the importance of holiday breaks for these kids.
One of the benefits of these breaks from the educational point of view is that the breaks lighten students’ stress loads. Many students study in schools close to two or three months long and that could cause stress for the students. When these students get the holiday breaks, they take time off from their classes to relax, recuperate and then come back to school refreshed. If students do not have holiday breaks, they may not be able to have different extracurricular activities like church camps or go camping. Parents are known to teach their children who are on holiday breaks different life skills such as camping and fishing.
Another good reason why students should go on these breaks is that they will have more time to spend with their families because family relationships are still very important. During these period, the students would take out time to hang out with friends by going to picnics and beaches, interact with their respective family members and develop social skills that would help them become independent. The breaks can be fun for these children when they know they can play with friends and family members, without thinking of any school works.
Lastly, during holiday breaks, students will have the chance to take various courses that they need to apply for certain higher institutions or to improve their skills.
