Step-by-step explanation:

The ratio cereal to marshmallow is 3:2 which is also the ratio in number 3. 15:10 can be simplified to 3:2.

Find the area of the rectangle. Round the answer to the nearest whole number.
Fed [463]

Answer:

The area of the given rectangle is 51

Step-by-step explanation:

First we have to find the coordinates of the vertices of the rectangle.

Then the length and breadth of it using distance formula.

The distance d between points (x₁ , y₁) and (x₂ , y₂) is given by

d= \sqrt{(x_{2}-x_{1})^{2}+(y_{2}-y_{1})^{2}}

Finally calculate the area of rectangle using the formula,

Area of rectangle = Length * Breadth

From the given graph, we get the coordinates of the rectangle as

A(2,4) , B(-2,3) , C(1,-9) , D(5,-8)

Breadth, AB = \sqrt{(-2-2)^{2}+(3-4)^{2}} = \sqrt{16+1} = sqrt{17}

Length, BC = \sqrt{(1+2)^{2}+(-9-3)^{2}} = \sqrt{9+144} = 3 sqrt{17}

Now, Area of rectangle = Length * Breadth = AB * BC = √17 * 3√17 = 3 *17 = 51

∴ The area of the given rectangle is 51

The difference of the square of a number and 36 is equal to 5 times that number. Find the positive solution.
exis [7]

Answer:

x=-4, x=9

Step-by-step explanation:

We write this into words:

difference = subtraction

square = ^2

a number = x

is equal to = =

5 times that number = 5x

x^2-36 = 5x

write in standard form

x^2-5x-36

what adds to -5 and multiplies to -36?

-9 and 4!

(x-9)(x+4)

x-9 = 0

x= 9

x+4 = 0

x=-4

Activity B (continued from previous page)
Novay_Z [31]

Answer:

A. (see Step-by-step explanation)

B. (-1, 4)

Step-by-step explanation:

<em>Since both functions are equal to </em><em>y</em><em>, we can set them equal to </em><u><em>each other.</em></u>

-x + 3 = 4x + 8

<em>Add the </em><em>x</em><em> to both sides (because it is negative on the left) and subtract the </em><em>8</em><em> from both sides (because it is positive on the right and we need to isolate the variable).</em>

-5 = 5x

<em>Divide both sides by 5 (because it is being multiplied to the </em><em>x</em><em>) to isolate </em><em>x</em><em>.</em>

x = -1

<em>Next, to solve for </em><em>y</em><em>, we can plug in </em><em>-1</em><em> for </em><em>x</em><em> in either equation from the beginning.</em>

y = -(-1) + 3

y = 1 + 3

y = 4

The point P(7, −4) lies on the curve y = 4/(6 − x). (a) If Q is the point (x, 4/(6 − x)), use your calculator to find the slope
Luda [366]
Hopefully you have a Ti-84 calculator because that's what I'm going to use.

First, input the equation on the "y =" button and graph the equation.

Then, hit "2nd, trace", or "calc". Choose the 6th option, "dy/dx". This gives you the derivative, or slope of the secant line, at any given x value.

If you just start typing numbers and hit enter, it'll find the derivative, so for part a letters i-viii, just input those numbers and press enter.

From the looks of it, the slope approaches 4 (as you from the x-values in i-iv and v-viii, the slopes approach 4). You can also check this by just inputting the x-value 7 in dy/dx or taking the derivative of the equation and plugging in 7. Hope this helps!! If you liked this answer please rate it as brainliest!!!
