Answer: So you need to find the area of the big circle and the little circle, if you add the diamaters they add up to 16 so we do pi*r^2 if the diameter is 16 we need the radius so we divide by 2, so we do pi*8^2, pi*64, 200.96 if we use 3.14, then we find the area of the little circle which is pi*r^2 which since the diameter is 8 we divide by 2 and get 4 so it is pi*4^2 which gets us pi*8 using 3.14 it is 25.12, now if we subtract 200.96-25.12 we get 175.84 mm

Which number line shows all the values of x that make the inequality -3x + 1 < 7 true
Brilliant_brown [7]

After solving the equation (work shown in image) your answer would be x > -2. I drew an image of how the number line should look at least similar to, using the solution.

*whenever you divide or multiply with a negative number reverse/flip the sign

< or > signs will always have an open circle

≥ or ≤ signs will have a closed/filled in circle

TIP: To know which way the arrow should point, look at the sign and think of it as an arrow.

< would have the arrow on the number point

this way: <-

or > which would have the arrow on the number line point this way: ->

I need help with this problem
Irina-Kira [14]

Answer:

3695.5 m

1530.73 m

Step-by-step explanation:

Given in the question,

The distance probe travels at an angle of depression 67.4 from the ship to the ocean surface = 4000m

We will use trigonometry identities

sinФ = opposite / hypotenuse

cosФ = adjacent/ hypotenuse

1)

distance of probe from top of sea to surface = x

cos(90 - 67.5) = x / 4000

x = 3695.5 m

2)

horizontal distance from ship to probe = y

sin(90-67.5) = y / 4000

y = 1530.73 m
