Posteriormente, en 2015, en el acuerdo de París, las naciones industrializadas plantearon diversos compromisos con el objetivo de luchar contra el cambio climático. Algunas de las acciones directas más importantes que se plantearon en el acuerdo de París fueron: 1- reducir el aumento observado en la temperatura media del planeta por debajo de 2°C para las próximas décadas, 2- crear un fondo común de 100 mil millones de dólares para luchar contra los efectos del calentamiento global, y 3- cada 5 años cada nación deberá presentar en Naciones Unidas cuales han sido las medidas concretas adoptadas para mitigar los efectos del calentamiento global y los resultados de tales acciones.
