Answer: Basic earnings per share = $4.05

Diluted earnings per share = $0.71

Explanation:

Based on the information given in the question, the basic earnings per share will be:

= [$540,000 - (7% x $100 x 30,000)] / [$100,000 - (24,000 x 10/12) + (6,000 x 3/12)]

= ($540,000 - $210,000) / ($100,000 - $20,000 + $1500)

= $330,000 / $81,500

= $4.05

The Diluted Earnings per share will be:

= [$540,000 - (7% x $100 x 30,000) + (5,000 x $1,000 x 6% x 60%)] / [$100,000 -(24,000 x 10/12) + (6,000 x 3/12) + (50,000 - ((50,000 x $40) / $50)) + (5,000 × 125)]

= [$540,000 - ($210,000) + ($180,000)] / [$100,000 -($20,000) + ($1500) + (50,000 - (($2,000,000) / $50)) + (5,000 × 125)]

= 510,000 / 716,500

=$0.71

Answer:

C. A debit to land for $240,000.

Explanation:

As it is mentioned that the value of the land has the appraised value of $240,000 also at the same time the common stock value could not be predicted

Therefore the land should be recorded at the current appraisal value i.e $240,000

Thus, the correct option is c. a debit to land for $240,000

The same is to be considered

Jet001 [13]

Answer:

No, there is no contract between the two parties because of withdrawal of offer (Revocation) before the acceptance of the other party.

Explanation:

When one party offers another party and after some time the offer maker withdraws the offer by communicating that they had revoked then the offer is no more available to the other party and is often termed as Revocation. So when the offer maker revokes before the acceptance of the offer by the other party then their is no offer at consideration to the other party, which means if there is no offer then their can not be an acceptance of an offer and of course when there is no acceptance then there is no contract.

The communication of revocation was held before the acceptance of the offer of the other party which agains says that the contract was not actually formed.
