Is it important that singular subjects be matched with singular verbs

English

Yes, it is very important. In grammar, there is something called subject verb agreement. It means that the subject must be in harmony with the verb. For example, if one writes, SHE LIKE TO EAT PIZZA. The personal pronoun SHE does not match with the verb Like which must be with the letter S (LIKES). So, it should go like this: SHE LIKES TO EAT PIZZA. For instance, it is very important that we pay a lot of attention when writing, if not, our writing could be poor and grammatically incorrect.

irina1246 [14]

Answer:

Describe at least 1 way these members of the Titanic Crew are different from the look outs and the Quartermaster?

While the look-outs and Quartermaster's jobs were to monitor the surrounding area of the ship and make ensure smooth sailing and had nothing to do with passengers, the stewards' jobs were to serve passengers inside of the ship and had nothing to do with monitoring the ship.

Do you think the job of steward was a better or worse than the job of Quartermaster? Explain your reasoning using a full sentence.

I think the job of steward was a better job than the Quartermaster because the Quartermaster had more responsibility and if anything on the ship was to go wrong the Quartermaster would get the blame.

Hope this helps you!

nekit [7.7K]
Nick Carraway is the first-person narrator, who's always on the outside looking in. He says at the beginning that he's "inclined to reserve all judgements,", so he's almost a non-existent narrator while actually being there to observe everyone's lives around him.
