Which statement best describes the significance of suleyman the magnificent
emmainna [20.7K]

Answer:

B. Suleyman the Magnificent led the Ottoman Turks to the height of power

Explanation:

Suleyman the Magnificent is one of the most, if not the most beloved historical figure among the Turkish people. There are numerous reasons for this. Unlike the typical Turkic ruler, Suleyman was very well educated, which led to him making multiple reforms and wise decisions. He prompted cultural development of the empire. Suleyman was a big admirer of the arts, so he lifted the significance of the arts in the society, as well as getting artists to make numerous beautiful things, especially around the capital. He was also a great military tactician, and managed to expand the empire further north in the Balkan Peninsula by defeating the Serbians and capturing Belgrade.

How was Iberville able to find the mouth of the Mississippi River?
LuckyWell [14K]

Answer:

After the Treaty of Rijswijk (1697) temporarily settled the dispute between the English and the French over Hudson Bay, Iberville was commissioned to fortify the mouth of the Mississippi in order to secure the claim made on Louisiana by René-Robert Cavelier, sieur de La Salle. In January 1699 Iberville explored the northern coast of the Gulf of Mexico, rediscovering the mouth of the Mississippi. Later he established a temporary fort, Fort Maurepas, on Biloxi Bay (now Ocean Springs, Miss.) and then sailed for France. The following year he returned and established a second fort, Fort La Boulaye, just below present-day New Orleans and in 1702 constructed a new post, Fort St. Louis, on the Mobile River. The success of these defense projects persuaded Louis XIV to begin colonizing Louisiana.
