Step-by-step explanation:

so let's say that the width is x then the length is x+15

and the area of a square is length times width

x(x+15)=100

x^2+15x-100=0

(x+20)(x-5)=0

x=5 or x=-20 but a side length can't be negative so x would equal 5

Length=x+15 with 5 as x

Length=20

Width=5

Hope that helps :)

Answer:

Let the Width be x then ATQ ,length would be x+15

Area of a Rectangle

length \times width

Step-by-step explanation:

(x + 15) \times x = 100 \\ x {}^{2}  + 15x = 100 \\ x {}^{2}  + 15x - 100 = 0 \\ x {}^{2}   +  20x - 5x - 100 = 0 \\ x(x  +  20) - 5x(x + 20) \\ (x - 5)(x + 20) \\ so...... \\ x = 5 \:

<h2>x = 5=> Width</h2><h2>x +15 = 20=> Length </h2>

One can convert temperature from Fahrenheit into Newton using the formula N=11/60(F-32) . What is the temperature in Fahrenheit
Rasek [7]

We are given

N=\frac{11}{60} (F-32)

Since, we have to solve for F

so, we will isolate F on anyone side

step-1:

Multiply both sides by 60

60\times N=60\times \frac{11}{60} (F-32)

60N=11 (F-32)

step-2:

Divide both sides by 11

\frac{60N}{11} =\frac{11(F-32)}{11}

\frac{60}{11}N =F-32

step-3:

Add both sides by 32

\frac{60}{11}N+32 =F-32+32

\frac{60}{11}N+32 =F

so, we get

F=\frac{60}{11}N+32................Answer

Sumin bought a pen and a book for $x. the pen cost $5. (a) express the cost of the book in terms of x. (b) if x = 11, find the c
anygoal [31]

Answer:

a. x = total - $5

b. x = $6

c. x = $10

Step-by-step explanation:

a. pen + book = total

Let x = book

$5 + x = total

x = total - $5

b. pen + book = total

Total = 411

$5 + x = $11

x = $11 - $5

x = $6

c. pen + book = total

Total = $15

$5 + x = $15

x = $15 - $5

x = $10
