-Andrew Jacksons leadership in the War of 1812 gained him fame and national attention as a Military Hero.

-when the new Democratic Party was founded in 1812 he became the first leader of it.

Explanation:

Do I think he would be as popular today as he was in 1820? No. Why? I believe Andrew Jackson would be very unpopular as he was responsible for the trail of Tears, people overlook all his other achievements and jjst focus on the Trail of Tears and how horrible it was.
