Runoff from things such as pesticides and fertilizers is also a major issue that harms groundwater. As rain approaches, these chemicals can seep through dirt and soil, eventually going as far as to reach the groundwater underneath the surface, contaminating it. And humans utilizing water to generate electricity is more of a benefit to the environment. It is another effective way to get power, and is an alternative to fossil fuels. And using groundwater as a power source does not really affect the groundwater itself, so this is why the last option is correct.
