In a speech on the characteristics of a diamond, Kelley used an easel and a series of large photographs attached to a foam board
Mama L [17]

This question is missing the options. I have found the complete question online, and the answer options are the following:

Which guideline for using visual aids was Kelley using?

A. use technology thoughtfully

B. keep your visual aids simple and to the point

C. time your visuals to coincide with your discussion of them

D. polish your visual aids

Answer:

The guideline Kelley is using is:

C. time your visuals to coincide with your discussion of them

Explanation:

According to the passage, Kelley only reveals parts of the photograph at specific times to help illustrate what she is talking about. She is timing her visuals, only showing something when it will cause more impact and support her point. This is an effective way to keep your audience interested. People will remain curious about the covered parts of the picture and how those parts will be connected to your speech.

Every day after work Paul took his muddy boots off on the steps of the front porch. Alice would have a fit if the boots made it
AlladinOne [14]

This question is incomplete. Here's the complete question.

Every day after work Paul took his muddy boots off on the steps of the front porch. Alice would have a fit if the boots made it so far as the welcome mat. He then took off his dusty overalls and threw them into a plastic garbage bag; Alice left a new garbage bag tied to the porch railing for him every morning. On his way in the house, he dropped the garbage bag off at the washing machine and went straight up the stairs to the shower as he was instructed. He would eat dinner with her after he was “presentable,” as Alice had often said.

1. What type of job does Paul do?

doctor

teacher

construction

store clerk

2. Describe Alice

3. What relationship do Paul and Alice have?

Answer:

  1. Construction worker
  2. A very tidy person.
  3. Husband and wife.

Explanation:

  1. Construction worker, or any profession that requires getting muddy and wear overalls, such as farmer, ditch digger, or miner.
  2. Alice seems to be someone who insists on having everything clean and tidy, to the point of imposing strict cleaning rules when Paul arrives from work.
  3. Paul and Alice seem to live together, so they most likely are husband and wife, or maybe mother and son.

GIVING BRAINLIST
Zepler [3.9K]

Answer:

The summary of this would be preety easy ive read it in college

As I was reading this book, I found it very realistic, because in school you might be embarrassed about one of your old friends that don't hang out with the cool kids, and not want to talk to them when you are around your cooler friends, so that you can stay cool. In the book for example on (Pg 88-89), Blinky walked up to to Paul and charlie and asked, " what are you guys talking about" and Paul said, " nothing much but our algebra class," knowing in his that he was just trying to get rid of her. These quotes show the the story was realistic in some ways because some times in school you sometimes don't want to talk to your old elementary/ middle school friends because there not as cool as you and you friends you have now. All because you want people to think you are so cool and you don't want to be looked down upon by the cool kids. That is sometimes exactly how high school can be.

In conclusion the book Breaking Point was about the peer pressure teens/kids can go through in school.  It shows how a kid in school, feels lonely, not accepted by classmates, and then in order to feel accepted does something they normally wouldn't do.  In Paul's case, it was running with Charlie's group, changing grades, releasing a virus into the school's computer, and tormenting David.  It also tell of the consequences of falling to peer pressure.

It is called the river of destruction.(active)
Rama09 [41]

Answer:

People call it the river of destruction.

Explanation:

When the subject is the performer of the action of the verb, it is called the active voice.

When the subject receives the action of the verb, it is called passive voice.

The given sentence is a sentence in passive voice. The subject in the sentence is unknown. When it is changed to the active voice, the general subject 'people' is added to it. The 'by-phrase' is missing in the sentence written in passive voice. The subject is the receiver of the action. The action of calling is done by the people.
