A great trick I learned since I love to right is to add <em>by zombies. </em>At the end of a sentence, if it makes sense with the addition of by zombies, then it is Passive. Seth accidentally broke the machine's handle by zombies doesn't work and is therefore Active.
Yes, in my opinon it would be because you wouldn't have any money at all left over. You should at least have a little saved for emergencies and ectera. :)
