Answer:

Abstract

Background

Up to now, research has focused on the effects of urban renewal programs and their impacts on health. While some of this research points to potential negative health effects due to gentrification, evidence that addresses the complexity associated with this relation is much needed. This paper seeks to better understand when, why and how health inequities arise from urban renewal interventions resulting in gentrification.

Methods

A realist review, a qualitative systematic review method, aimed to better explain the relation between context, mechanism and outcomes, was used. A literature search was done to identify theoretical models of how urban renewal programs can result in gentrification, which in turn could have negative impacts on health. A systematic approach was then used to identify peer-reviewed studies that provided evidence to support or refute the initial assumptions.

Results

Urban renewal programs that resulted in gentrification tended to have negative health effects primarily in residents that were low-income. Urban renewal policies that were inclusive of populations that are vulnerable, from the beginning were less likely to result in gentrification and more likely to positively impact health through physical and social improvements.

Conclusions

Research has shown urban renewal policies have significant impacts on populations that are vulnerable and those that result in gentrification can result in negative health consequences for this population. A better understanding of this is needed to impact future policies and advocate for a community-participatory model that includes such populations in the early planning stages.

algol [13]
The answer is - Sunspots.

Sunspots are dark in appearance, but only on a visible light, and this is due to the fact that they are much cooler than the surrounding areas, but that doesn't mean by any means that the sunspots are cool, on contrary, they are very hot too. Sunspots actually are storms that appear in the lower atmosphere of the sun.

New York has always been a waterfront city, therefore Hurricane Sandy’s significant flood and destruction reminded the governments on precedents around the world about extreme weather global complex issues that the city is facing as an urban  waterfront community.

New York City with its unique features, coped with storm´s coastal flooding disaster and recognizes it needs to cope with the challenges of increasing  risk that climate change, sea level rise and coastal storms involve. But the storm city´s resilience imply high-costs-strong measures to plan for coastal risks aid in short- and long-term robust infrastructure projects considering   the special design for waterfront communities by the means of making  the city safer and healthier, but still vibrant and prosperous, vital and sus tainable.

Although critical, planning for the future of these projects depends on budget management associated with each strategy for New York City comprehensive waterfront plan, as this framework requires gigantic public and  private investment for ensuring healthy waterways, a strong port, the ecological protection of nat ural habitats, the public’s enjoyment of the shoreline, and the economic benefits of  in our waterfront trying to understand the magnitude and benefits in the future and in case of disasters.

Why did the British issue the Balfour Declaration?
sweet-ann [11.9K]

☁️ Answer ☁️

☕ the reason why Britain issued the Balfour Declaration was because it was used as a device to keep the Jewish population out of Britain through the adoption of the Alien Act in 1905 and the anti- Semitic attitude that was fostered by the British government and the British people. ☕
