AN elevator has a placard stating that the maximum capacity is1720lb-10passengers. So , 10 adult male passengers, find the proba

bility that it is overloaded because they have a mean weight greater than 172lb.(Assume that weights of males are normally distributed with mean of 177 lb and a standard deviation of32lb). Dose this elevator appear to be safe?

We will check if the elevator can hold 10 man
X~(177,32^2)
n= 10
P(SigmaX>172)
SigmaX~(177*10,(32^2)*10)
SigamX~N(1770, 101.19^2)
P(SigmaX>172*10=1720) =Z=(1720-1770)/101.19
Z = -0.49
From Z table Z=-0.49
P(Z=-0.49) = 0.3121 (probability they will not overload)
1- 0.3123 = 0.6879 = 68.79%
The elevator is not safe, the probability to be more the 172 is 68.79%, high probability they could not make it.

Two distance are in the ratio 9 to 4 if the first distance is 270km, what is the second distance?
IceJOKER [234]

Let's practice a little algebra and set the second distance to x.

9/4=270/x

solve

9x=270*4

x=30*4

x=120

The second distance is 120.

Done! any question about this just ask me in the comment.

Factor: 10x^3-35x^2-12x+42<br><br> I'll give brainliest :) but please show all work.
alexandr402 [8]

Answer:

\left(2x-7\right)\left(5x^2-6\right)

Explanation:

\hookrightarrow\sf 10x^3-35x^2-12x+42

using associative property, separate

\hookrightarrow\sf \left(10x^3-35x^2\right)+\left(-12x+42\right)

take common term, factorise

\hookrightarrow\sf 5x^2\left(2x-7\right)-6\left(2x-7\right)

final answer

\hookrightarrow\sf \left(2x-7\right)\left(5x^2-6\right)

if y varies directly as the square root of x and y=87 when x=625, find y if x =390625. Round off your answer to the nearest hund
natta225 [31]

Answer:

2175

Step-by-step explanation:

y = k sqrt(x)

x = 625

y = 87

87 = k * sqrt(625)

87 = k * 25

87/25 = k

k = 3.48

y = 3.48 * sqrt(390625)

y = 3.48 * 625

y = 2175

Which graph shows the circle with equation x2 + (y- 4)2 =16
Nady [450]

Answer:

The graph in the attached figure

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The equation of the circle into center radius form is equal to

(x-h)^{2}+(y-k)^{2}=r^{2}

where

(h,k) is the center of the circle

r is the radius of the circle

In this problem we have

(x)^{2}+(y-4)^{2}=16

(x)^{2}+(y-4)^{2}=4^{2}

so

the center is the point (0,4)

the radius is r=4\ units

therefore

the graph in the attached figure
