Explanation:

Dear Editor,

I write to express my concern over the issue of abuse of power and corruption in government. Since our 34 years of independence there has been outright and open corruption by both Governments who have been placed to manage the affairs and develop this country economically, educationally, politically and otherwise. We have seen the privilege given to some individuals to manage the affairs of this country being misused, abused and dynasties created, some have enriched themselves and their cronies and in turn the very people who have elected them to serve have been neglected and the country is saddled with enormous debts which our children and grandchildren will have to repay. In my opinion it is a frustrating scenario on repeat with nothing being done to alleviate the biasness and abuse of authority of some government officials.

We must agree that it is unfair for educated individuals with the right qualification deserving jobs but not getting them due to nepotism being displayed. With our Healthcare under intense scrutiny and Immigration scandals arising every now and again we must anticipate more is yet to come. I am not choosing sides of this political dynasty but simply making it clear that no matter who we put into government that they almost always end up losing site and focus on the primary job. We as a unit of Belize’s population, whether educated or not must fight for the upliftment of our country in ways unheard of and unprecedented. For the next five years we must analyse all that is happening in our country as we hold the key to our rise in glory or our fall in utter despair.

We must rapidly come up with solutions to our problems such as crime, unemployment, poverty, healthcare debt recovery as they are all vital in the development of our country and our position in the international arena. Furthermore I want to see my country flourish and not diminish with corrupt politicians becoming heads of government, I want to see our debts reduce and continue to reduce until we are in good standing, I want to see our justice system be fair to all, but for this to happen we must first put without a doubt in our minds the right persons in place to run our country and not running it down the drain. I want to see individuals with the right mind set who are willing and able to get the job done exactly how it should be done.

I’ve seen well mannered, educated, and humble individuals turn to quite the opposite as soon as they enter into politics or enter into government. This is what our country has become, normal individuals in suits and ties who seemingly are above the law and above the people of this country. We must open our eyes and stop being fooled, we must analyse the economy and heads of government and see if both these principles are moving in an upward mobility or downward mobility or if they are moving opposite of each other. The ideal outcome is that the economy is lifted.

In conclusion, we must stop government officials in their destiny to becoming rich through government. We need to carefully seek to place right individuals with the right mind set and qualifications to run this country in the direction that is beneficial to the greater population rather than focusing on personal gains. We need to focus on true development of our country and not be fooled by the lackadaisical work being done by the individuals we ourselves put in power. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely and if we fail to plan then consequently we plan to fail.

Respectfully,

Justin M. Wade

The Editor,

The Daily Dawn,

KARACHI.

Dear Sir,

Every day newspapers tell us heart-rending stories of many incidents of fraud. In offices, no file moves until the dealing officials get the “kharcha pani”. In police stations, no case is registered unless the affected party pleases the Officials. No doubt, it is not the same everywhere but it is true that in the majority of the cases it happens like this.

In our society, honest and gentle people are few in number. The majority is of corrupt people. The techniques that we use to cheat others are quite amazing. In performing negative actions, we are at the top. We devise surprising tricks to deceive others. We stoop to the lowest ebb of immorality for the sake of material gains. This feature is common in a street hawker and a big industrialist.

The main cause of this widespread corruption is the lack of contentment The general restlessness and dearness are the contributing factors in this regard. Everyone in our Society is under a constant threat. No one is sure what is going to happen next moment. This uncertainty has given rise to this state of affairs.

The society that ignores religion falls a prey to corruption. If the man who is committing fraud has the fear of God, he will never indulge in this act. As we have broken our links with religion, we have no sense of right or wrong. We have forgotten the golden rules set by our elders.

The corrupt rulers have forgotten the practices of Hazrat Omar (RA). Hazrat Omar (RA) kept awake during the nights and had a round of the city to see the real situation of his society. He held himself responsible if even a dog died of hunger. Do our rulers or politicians show this type of the character?

To control corruption, we have to make our people true Muslims. Only our religion can guarantee the purity of body and soul. It teaches us the lesson of simplicity and contentment. It will make us God-fearing. if everyone becomes gentle and considerate, there will be no corruption at all. For this purpose, we should learn to have a trial of our own selves. This is the only way to control this social evil.

Why do we need grammar?

Grammar is significant because the language allows us to discourse about language, which is why it is so vital. Grammar describes the many kinds of words and word groups that can be found in sentences in any language, not only English. Even as young children, all of us can use language and construct complete phrases. However, being able to discuss the types of words and word groupings that make up sentences, as well as how sentences are put together, requires knowledge of grammar. Grammar knowledge also provides a glimpse into the human mind and our incredibly sophisticated cognitive ability.

Why does Peril use the phrase " the graveyard of outdated popular culture" to refer to pink think?
Kaylis [27]
"Pink think" is a model of thinking that prescribes certain social roles that are suitable and appropriate for women, such as "sugar and spice and everything nice", fear of mice, bad driving, interest for gossip, the ultimate function of childbearing... According to Peril, all of these stereotypes are outdated - but they still somehow sustain because the patriarchal model that is at their core sustains and survives.
