If n is the number of cans in row r
n = 9 - r where r is a natural number less than 9

When r = 5 then n = 9 - 5 = 4

(you could let r = 9 as the ninth row has zero cans but values above 9 will give negative counts)

Murljashka [212]

Answer:

<h2>45, 46, 47</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

n, n + 1, n + 2 - three consecutive integers

The equation:

138 - n = (n + 1) + (n + 2)

138 - n = n + 1 + n + 2                 <em>combile like terms</em>

138 - n = 2n + 3           <em>subtract 138 from both sides</em>

-n = 2n - 135               <em>subtract 2n from both sides</em>

-3n = -135            <em>divide both sides by (-3)</em>

n = 45

n + 1 = 46

n + 2 = 47

PLEASE HELP ME!!!
Fynjy0 [20]
<h3>Answer:  15 years old</h3>

=============================================

Explanation:

m = Maggie's age (some positive whole number)

4m = four times her age

4m-7 = seven years younger than 4m = brother's age

Add up her age (m) and her brother's age (4m-7) to get a sum of 68.

m+(4m-7) = 68

5m-7 = 68

5m = 68+7

5m = 75

m = 75/5

m = 15

Maggie is currently 15 years old.

Her brother is currently 4m-7 = 4*15-7 = 60-7 = 53 years old.

Their current year ages add to: 15+53 = 68 which confirms the answer.
