Mendel bred a purple-flowered pea plant with a white-flowered pea plant and found that all the offspring had purple flowers. But
then when he bred together two of the purple-flowered offspring, some of their offspring had white flowers. Using the concepts of dominant and recessive alleles, explain how the trait of white flowers skipped a generation.
Purple is dominant to white flowered. Purple gene(which occurs in pairs of PP which are both dominant alleles) crossed with a recessive pp(white flowered) after crossing, all the offspring had Pp. Purple being dominant suppressed the white(p). after crossing the offspring, (Pp and Pp) a quarter the offspring lacked the dominant allele P hence allowing the recessive colour white to be shown.
Exocytosis moves materials out of a cell. Endocytosis moves materials into a cell. Active transport uses carrier proteins. (not entirely sure about this one... check it out to be sure) Molecules move from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration by passive transport.
Greater biodiversity in ecosystems, species, and individuals leads to greater stability. For example, species with high genetic diversity and many populations that are adapted to a wide variety of conditions are more likely to be able to weather disturbances, disease, and climate change
The answer is language. Humans have a high degree of language acquisition and complexity compared to
chimpanzees due to foxp2 proteins. Foxp2
are transcription factors that are significant in cell proliferation. The difference of 2 in 700 amino acids in the sequence makes the protein to be differentially regulated between the two
species.
