The graph of the equation

Mathematics
1 answer:
KATRIN_1 [288]3 years ago

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

This equation has a vertical asymptote at x = -2 and a horizontal asymptote at y = 1. This is stuff you should know about rational equations as you learn about them. The vertical asymptote serves as the locked gate or really high wall that the graph cannot go through nor can it go around or over or under. The graph will never cross through the VA. The horizontal asymptote is a horizontal line, y = 1, that reveals the graph's end behavior. So picture this:

We have an x/y coordinate plane. There is a vertical asymptote at x = -2 and a horizontal line at y = 1. This graph, because it cannot go through the vertical asymptote, is "split" into 2 parts, basically. The left "part" comes in along the horizontal asymptote from negative infinity, almost touching it but not quite, and when it reaches x = -2, it drops along the vertical asymptote, almost touching it but not quite and goes down into negative infinity. The right "part" of the graph comes down from positive infinity along the vertical asymptote, almost touching it but not quite, and when it reaches y = 1, it curves along that line off into positive infinity.

6x +7y=-46 3x-2y=32 solve this system of linear equations
Marina86 [1]

Hello

We have two equations and need to find x and y

(1) 6x+7y=-46

(2) 3x-2y=32

multiply (2) by 2 it gives

(2') 6x-4y=64

(1) - (2') gives

6x+7y-6x+4y=-46-64 = -110

so 11y = -110

y = -10

replace in (2) it gives

3x+20=32

3x=12

x = 12/3 = 4

the solution is (4,-10)

One angle of a triangle measures 120°. The other two angles are in a ratio of 5:7. What are the measures of those two angles
natta225 [31]
5x= one angle measure
7x= second angle measure
120°= third angle

Triangles equal 180°. Add the angles above to total 180°. Find x to find two two unknown angles.

5x + 7x + 120°= 180°
combine like values

12x + 120= 180
subtract 120 from both sides

12x= 60
divide both sides by 12

x= 5

ONE ANGLE MEASURE
5x= 5(5)= 25°

SECOND ANGLE MEASURE
7x= 7(5)= 35°

CHECK:
25° + 35° + 120°= 180°
180°= 180°

ANSWER: The measures of the two angles are 25° and 35°.

Hope this helps! :)

The four Western provinces cover about 2/7 of Canada's area. Alberta covers about 1/14 of Canada's area. What fraction describes
Goshia [24]

Answer:5/14

Step-by-step explanation:if you're just combining them all 2/7 is equal to 4/14 and add that to the existing 1/14 so 4/14+1/14=5/14 total area covered
