How do i express x^2-3x into the form of (x-m)^2+n.

Well this could be incredibly easy, by just saying m=0 and n=-3x.

This is a completely valid case but nevertheless seems too easy. The requirements are probably that n and m are integers or natural numbers but since that was not specified such probable requirement ought not to be followed.

Hope this helps :)

Scalcet8 4. 2. 26. suppose that 2 ≤ f '(x) ≤ 4 for all values of x. what are the minimum and maximum possible values of f(4) − f
ziro4ka [17]

The minimum value of f(4) - f(1) is <u>6</u>.

The maximum value of f(4) - f(1) is <u>12</u>.

In the question, we are given that, 2 ≤ f'(x) ≤ 4 for all values of x.

Taking the given inequality as (i).

We are asked to find the minimum and maximum possible values of f(4) - f(1).

We multiply (i) by dx throughout, to get:

4dx ≤ f'(x)dx ≤ 5dx.

To find this, we integrate (i) in the definite interval [4, 1] with respect to dx, to get:

\int_{1}^{4}2dx \leq \int_{1}^{4}f'(x)dx \leq \int_{1}^{4}4dx\\\Rightarrow [2x]_{1}^{4} \leq [f(x)]_{1}^{4} \leq [4x]_{1}^{4}\\\Rightarrow 2*4 - 2*1 \leq f(4)-f(1) \leq 4*4 - 4*1\\\Rightarrow 6 \leq f(4) -f(1) \leq 12

Thus, the minimum value of f(4) - f(1) is 6.

The maximum value of f(4) - f(1) is 12.

Give the null and alternative hypotheses in symbolic form that would be used in a hypothesis test of the following claim:
irakobra [83]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The null hypothesis is usually the default statement. The alternative is the opposite of the null and usually tested against the null hypothesis

In this case study,

The null hypothesis in would be that the mean time between clicks of the second hand on a particular clock is 1 second. In symbolic form it would be u = 1

The alternative hypothesis would be that the mean time between clicks of the second hand on a particular clock is 1 not second. In symbolic form, it would be: u =/ 1

The equation for line t can be written as y = 4x - 8. Line u, which is perpendicular to line t,
xeze [42]

Here, we are required to determine the equation of the line u which is perpendicular to the line t and passes through the point (8,8).

The equation of the line u is;. y = (-x/4) + 10.

First, the product of the slope of 2 perpendicular lines is negative 1 i.e -1.

M1 × M2 = -1

From observation, the slope of line t given by y = 4x - 8 is equal to 4.

  • Therefore, since M1 = 4,
  • Then, M2 = -1/4

To get the equation of a line,

Slope, M2 = (y - y1)/(x - x1)

where M2 = -1/4 , y1 = 8 and x1 = 8.

Therefore, -1/4 = (y - 8)/(x - 8).

Therefore, -x + 8 = 4y -32

Therefore, 4y = -x + 40.

Ultimately, the equation of the line u is ;

y = (-x/4) + 10.
