The width is x, when the length is x+2. The area is x(x+2)= x^2+2x.

The perimeter is (x+x+2)*2= (2x+2)*2=4x+4

THe thrre times perimeter is 3(4x+4)= 12x+12

x^2+2x= 12x+12-1

x^2+2x-12x-11=0

x^2-10x-11=0

x=-1 (not suitable); x=11 - the width

The length is 11+2=13
