After reading Barrio Boy, students were asked to write a paragraph about the relationships between the adults and the children i

n the story. Which answer option contains a well-written introductory statement and supporting detail?
The adult characters in Barrio Boy are strict and serious. They are also very bossy, and it does not seem fun to grow up in that small neighborhood.
One time when the boy takes a part off the bed, the grown up makes him put it back. Another time he has to clean the bathroom.
One of the adult characters is the mother. She finds a place for them to stay and points out the American flag.
The adult characters in Barrio Boy expect to be obeyed and respected. This is evident when the children of the village have to politely run errands for their neighbors.

Answer:

Shifting of a young boy from a relatively simple existence in a Mexican village to a somewhat hectic and complex life in a different culture and in an urban setting is the story all about.

Explanation:

Barrio boy is a dramatic and a vivid autobiography. This has been written by Ernesto Galarza. The story is of a boy who is caught in between the worlds when he moves from Mexico to United States of America.

The change in the lifestyle of that boy when he moves from a rural life to an area where the life is very hectic, busy and complex is the theme and the points of focus of the story.

A want is something that is essential for survival, such as food and medical care, and a need is something we desire
Alexxandr [17]
This is false, and the opposite is true!

A want, used as a noun, refers to something that is not necessary, but something that is wanted, desired only.

A need, in contrast, refers to something that is necessary, so it is not merely something that is wanted, but something that is very essential.

Which sentence belongs in an objective summary of Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl?
yulyashka [42]

Answer:

Third Option: Anne Frank and her family go into hiding in the cramped attic of a warehouse for two agonizing years to escape the horrors of Nazi occupation in Amsterdam.

Explanation:

Objective means something which is tangible, measurable, and concrete. If statement(s) includes something which is based on perceptions, interpretations, emotions opinions etc., it will become subjective.

First statement has many subjective phrases, e.g timeless story, perceptive recounting, living in hiding (with no mention of place). So, it is subjective statement and not objective.

Second option has subjective phrases e.g unusual insight, thoughts and experiences.

Fourth option has subjective phrases e.g thoughts and experiences, living in hiding (with no mention of place).

Third option had no subjective phrases and everything/fact told is objective i.e Anne Frank and her family, cramped attic of a warehouse, for two agonizing years. So, this option is correct as objective summary.
