Si Manuel L. Quezon ay ang pangulo ng Pilipinas noong panahon ng Komonwealth. Siya ang pangulong nagpanukala ng pagkakaroon ng Wikang Pambansa ng Pilipinas.  Ang mga sumusunod ay ilan sa mga kadahilanan kung bakit nararapat siyang ituring bilang Ama ng Wikang Pambansa:

1.Dahil sa kanya, nagkaroon tayo ng isang ganap na wikang sinasalita.

2.Ang pagkakaroon ng Wikang Pambansa ay maaaring maging simbolo ng ating pagkatao.  

3.Ito ang isa sa mga nagpatibay ng pagkakaroon ng kalayaan ng bansa.  

4.Siya nag naging susi ng pagkakaisa ng mga Pilipino at nagbigay daan sa pagkakaroon ng Buwan ng Wika.
