Answer: Qualitative research generates non-numerical data. Quantitative research produces numerical data.

Basically, they are opposites. On one hand, quantitative data is information about quantities, and therefore, numbers. While on the other hand, qualitative data is detailed and marks events that can be recognized but not contained, such as language.
