Describe in your own words the interaction between Dante and the lady who comes to visit him in canto 2
Alenkasestr [34]

Answer:

Dante is standing at the mouth of hell with Virgil and he feels a great sense of dread and apprehension about continuing. Virgil then tells him that a women told him to find Dante and be his guide in hell, this lady was Beatrice. She came down from Heaven to tell Virgil of Dante's story and ask him to help Dante. Beatrice was Dante's true love (in real life and in the story) who died and is now counted among the blessed in Heaven. She had learned of Dante's plight from St. Lucia, also in Heaven, who in turn heard about the poor poet from the Virgin Mary. Beatrice symbolizes divine love and is sent by Mary and Lucia to help Dante by enlisting Virgil's help. Beatrice also knows that Dante will listen to Virgil if he knows that she has intervened and still loves him and that he is being watched over.

8. What was the policy of internment and who did it affect?
vesna_86 [32]

The policy of internment required the Japanese citizens of America to report to the special camps to submit to the interrogations and to pledge loyalty to America after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in World War II.

Explanation:

 • The policy required the Japanese citizens of America to report to the camps irrespective of the place they resided in and the time they would have to travel.
 • It mainly aimed at averting espionage attempts by the Japanese. This uprooted and separated many Japanese families and made living conditions worse for them.
 • It affected the citizenship holders of America, Canada and Mexico who were of Japanese origin.
 • Immigrants were not allowed on a regular basis as they did not have much knowledge when it came to work.

What were the causes of the labor reform movements
Alex73 [517]
Answer: In the mid-1800s, a series of reform movements swept across the United States and people led groups and formed organizations to change society. (Define Reform: making changes in, in order to improve it.) Some of these reforms were in response to social issues made worse by urbanization that developed as industry and technology advanced. American reformers tried to tackle series issues such as abolishing slavery(kinda), promoting women’s rights, improving education, providing better care for the mentally ill(this movement was started by Dorothea Dix), improving prison conditions, and educating the public on the dangers of alcohol.
