Cable theft costs South Africa approximately R5 billion a year, according to an announcement made by former Minister of Police, Nathi Mthethwa, in November 2013. This may be a very conservative estimate, as cable theft has become a national crisis with serious implications for the country’s economy and security. It disrupts and delays the delivery of essential services such as health, communication and transport. Cable theft interrupts the flow of traffic on the country’s roads, the rail system and even air travel, resulting in increasing levels of public frustration and financial losses to businesses. Hope this helps

The most serious obstacle to Japan’s goal of becoming an industrial power was its _____.
Sauron [17]

Right answer: lack of nonrenewable resources

Nonrenewable resources are characterized by the fact that once extracted from the earth, they are gone, and hence there is no new resources to replace them.

In this context, Japan has a serious obstacle with the lack of this kind of resources. This country imports great amounts of fossil fuel (oil, gas) and radioactive material, such as uranium for the nuclear energy resources. Nevertheless, after the nuclear disaster on 2011, people began to show opposition to the nuclear fission energy.

This means Japan has a huge challenge in its goal of becoming an industrial power. On the other hand, although the country lacks of these materials and have to import them, they create products with the materials imported and then sell them back to other countries.

25. Among the characteristics of all rituals, sacred or secular, are the following: A. Performative and Practical, not Intellect
Ipatiy [6.2K]

Answer:

Option E

Explanation:

Custom conduct, set up or fixed by customary guidelines, has been watched the world over and from the beginning of time. In the investigation of this conduct, the terms sacrosanct (the otherworldly domain) and profane (the domain of time, space, and circumstances and logical results) have stayed valuable in recognizing custom conduct from different sorts of activity.

Some of the characteristics of rituals are:

 • The primary trademark is an inclination or feeling of regard, wonderment, interest, or fear in connection to the hallowed.
 • The second normal for ceremony includes its reliance upon a conviction framework that is generally communicated in the language of legend.
 • The third normal for ceremony activity is that it is emblematic in connection to its reference. Concession to these attributes can be found in many depictions of the elements of custom.

Growing cities often face increased levels of pollution as they expand and require more resources for their citizens. The lesson
DochEvi [55]

The city planners can reduce the pollution levels by carefully managing the size and location of buildings, where the industry is located, enabling free air movement, constructing objects fro plant growth etc.

Explanation:

Lot of large cities in the world face huge problems when it comes to the air quality, as the levels of pollution are way above the limit. Part of the reason as two why this is happening is because of bad city planning. Instead of putting the industry out of the urban areas, especially the heavy one, it is often inside the cities. The infrastructure is also often built in a manner that stops the free air movement, which results in pilling up of pollutants.

The city planners can solve this problems with several methods, such as:

 • building infrastructure that will enable free air movement
 • locating the industry out of the urban areas and to be set in a place where the air movement won't bring pollution to the cities, but away from them
 • constructing special objects on the existing infrastructure for plant growth

Two very big problems that contribute to the air pollution are the non-regulated emissions of pollutants, and the lack of greenery. The authorities have to be very strict toward the industry and force it to use filters, which unfortunately is often a big problem because of the corruption. The large cities that have problems with air pollution often lack greenery. This can be solved by putting objects on which plants can grow, at every possible location. Plants such as the ivy are active all year around, they are fast growing, and low maintenance, and they will be able to extract huge amounts of carbon dioxide from the air.
